The Legacy - STAGE 2
Processing The Film
Master's of the wet process work in a darkroom lab environment and have intimate knowledge of the perfect scientific and wet chemical conditions to process the film (whether it's 35mm, medium or large format negative).
This space is pristine, free from unwanted light and dust. Clients are rarely allowed in this part of the Master's studio.
There are different processes involved with both black and white and color film's as well as for specialized films.
Each Master will be able to convey to their client what traditional processes/skill sets they use for fine art film photography.
The film is processed in film drums, containing the chemical mixed by the Master for a specified time and then washed clean after the process is complete, locking the final "state" of the negative.
After carefully squeeging the film, the films are then dried and if relevant, cut - ready for Stage 3.
